last sunday i had a "little" valentine's day cupcake party. about 50+/- people made an appearance. good thing there were PLENTY of cupcakes for everyone! i am SO blessed to have such great friends here in cedar city. when the house was packed with lots of people i looked around and realized i'm surrounded by loved ones that make me want to be a better person.

this is my famous peanut butter frosting i make from scratch

i accidentally forgot to half the recipe...needless to say we had WAY too much!

i may or may not have eaten a few spoonfuls of pure frosting...

i found this idea on pinterest (of course) and i just couldn't resist! i thought i was totally done with my valentine's decorations but i had the gold glitter on hand (as always) and the mache letters were on sale at joanns! so.... for only $6 i made this:

just a little tacky glue and sprinkle glitter on top! i actually used a cake tin to contain my glitter somewhat.

last semester was terrible. THIS semester i have wonderful roommates!! it's amazing how we all get along SO well and we ALL are kinda OCD so the house is always spotless. there are NEVER dirty dishes!!! i LOVE it!

i made this little sign last semester but i just now laminated it haha. we don't use it because the dishes are always being done, but it's something cute for the kitchen!

oh me oh my! i have been SO busy! over Christmas break i moved from one side of town to the other. i've been so busy setting up home and starting my spring semester. however, i've found a few minutes to post what i made today...

so, at the beginning of the year COSTCO always introduces a lot of new products.

we've been addicted to their strawberry granola bars and their crisps (which taste just like pop-tarts!)

so, just when we thought it couldn't get any better they brought in *drum roll please*

chocolate chip cookie bars

yummy!

At walmart they're like $4 i think for 1 box of 8 but at costco they're $11 for 4 boxes of 8 (=32). they are SO good and don't taste healthy at all :) i love them for when i have a little craving for something chocolately but minus the calories. so, next time you go to the grocery store, pick up a box! you won't regret it! (neither will your scale!) :)

{SUPER easy} mini cinnamon rolls.

for my 2d class my final was at 7:30am. i just had to present all the work that i've done this semester. everyone was complaining about having to wake up so early, so i decided to cheer up every with some mini cinnamon rolls. you won't believe how easy these are to make!

Flip and repeat.

Next take a rolling pin and roll the dough into a square about 1/4″ thick.

Brush on 1 Tablespoon butter,

sprinkle with cinnamon,

and add a dusting of brown sugar.

Roll the dough into one big log, and cut into 8 even slices.

PS you can use as much cinnamon and brown sugar in these rolls as you want. This is a total non-recipe recipe!

Place the rolls into a non-stick sprayed mini muffin tin and bake for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown.

Recipe

Ingredients:

1-8oz tube crescent roll dough

2 Tablespoons butter

cinnamon

brown sugar

For the maple icing:

1 teaspoon maple syrup

1 Tablespoon skim milk

3/4 cup powdered sugar

Directions:

1. Preheat oven according to crescent roll dough package directions. Layout half the dough (4 triangles) and pinch all the seams together. Flip over and pinch the seams on the back side together too.

2. Using a rolling pin, smooth the seams and roll the dough into a square about 1/4″ thick. Brush with half the butter, and sprinkle with as much cinnamon and brown sugar as you want. Roll into a log and cut into 8 pieces.

3. Place mini cinnamon rolls into a non-stick sprayed mini muffin tin. Repeat steps 1 and 2 with the other half of the crescent roll dough. Bake according to package directions.

4. Meanwhile whisk together maple syrup and milk in a bowl. Add in powdered sugar until desired consistency is reached. Drizzle over warm cinnamon rolls.

**my variations.

1. I used Pilsbury crescent rolls.

2. I used pre-made cream cheese frosting. it was quicker & still yummy!

3. I had already packed my mini cupcake tin so i just used a regular cookie sheet.

(it still works they just get a little bigger!)

once i'm all moved in, i'll be making this FOR SURE. it's sooo pretty!

Sweet DIY Votives

Here’s what you’ll need:

1. Measure the height and circumference of your jar, and cut strips of fabric to roughly fit (approx. 1cm wide – doesn’t have to be perfect).

2. In your small cup, pour in some glue and dilute it with a bit of water (about 1:2), mix well. It should be the consistency of slightly thicker water.. yes, I know I’m being vague but it shouldn’t make much difference to the end result.

3. Submerge your first strip of fabric in the glue. Once soaked, lightly run your thumb and forefinger down the strip to get rid of any excess glue.4. Place the strip into your jar (pattern side facing the jar) and position it. Use your paintbrush to push any air bubbles out from between the fabric and the jar.

5. Repeat with the rest of your fabric. Allow to dry overnight before using.

Note:- It would be best to use battery operated tea lights instead of real candles- I find that it’s ok to have fabric going above the top of your jar because it can be easily cut off after it’s dried.- I don’t mind the look of the overlapping lines of fabric once the candle is lit, but if you do try not to overlap the strips in the gluing process.

** I’m just going to add this little disclaimer… please be careful! Even though I’ve used real candles in my jars, it would be better to use battery operated tea-lights. If you do decide to go with real candles, make sure your jar is big enough that the candle has plenty of room around it (the bigger the better), with no chance of the flame touching the fabric. Make sure the glue is dried overnight before using the votives, and keep an eye on them – if you see any signs of them starting to burn, stop using them immediately! **

i found this recipe on pinterest! i might make it after my nap today :) it's finals week! can you blame me?

Cake:

3 c. flour

1/4 tsp.salt

1 c. sugar

4 tsp. baking powder

1 1/2 c. milk

2 eggs

2 tsp. vanilla

1/2 c. butter, melted

Topping:

1 c. butter, softened

1 c. brown sugar

2 Tbsp. flour

1 Tbsp. cinnamon

Mix everything together except for the butter. Slowly stir in the melted butter and pour into a greased 9x13 pan. For the topping, mix all the ingredients together until well combined. Drop evenly over the batter and swirl with a knife. Bake at 350 for 28-32 minutes.

Glaze:

2 c. powdered sugar

5 Tbsp. milk

1 tsp. vanilla

While warm drizzle the glaze over the cake.

WOW! i've received SO many emails regarding the sugar scrub!!! isn't it the best? here's a few answers to the many many emails!

essential oil is purchased at any local health store.

(pick up some yummy carob chips too! yum!)

you can vary the salt & sugar measurements...it's not important how much you put of both. sometimes i like straight sugar and no salt. it's totally up to you

feel free to vary essential oils. you may add lavender or any other mixture.

(a great source of information regarding essential oils)

i'm new to SUNFLOWER oil as well, but it's a lot less fragrant and greasy than olive oil!

as for more recipes....

Honey Almond Sleepy Sugar Scrub

3 cups white sugar

1 cup honey

2 TBS tea (extra strong cup of Sleepy Time tea)

1 tsp almond extract (opt. essential oil)

**consistency: not too oily or runny. honey won't mix in all the way. & make sure it isn't lumpy!

Vanilla Almond Brown Sugar Scrub

3 cups brown sugar

2 cups sunflower oil (sunflower oil is less fragrant and greasy than olive)

handful of almonds (chopped)

1 tsp almond extract (opt. essential oil)

mix all ingredients in a food processor

**consistency will be a bit grainy but should still mix well

if it seems too oily after add more oats or sugar

Basic Sugar Scrub

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup sunflower oil

then...

just add WHATEVER you please!

honestly!

if you want to get a little fancy, add beeswax or jojoba beads.

if you are BLESSED enough to live close to a Hobby Lobby, add a small scoop

so after hours and hours of browsing pinterest looking for ideas of christmas presents for my friends & visiting teachers, i decided on sugar scrub. it was super simple to make and turned out REALLY good. i've already used it and made the boys from downstairs try it! (even they liked it!)

mason jars. i used 8oz

the recipes are REALLY easy

peppermint sugar scrub:

2 cups sugar

1 cup salt

1 cup sunflower oil

(this varies, so feel free to add a little more if needed)

12 drops of peppermint essential oil

(optional: candy canes crushed up SUPER FINE)

vanilla brown sugar scrub:

1 cup sugar

2 cups brown sugar

1 cup salt

2 TBS vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups sunflower oil

(this varies, so feel free to add a little more if needed)

then make cute labels! i considered putting the label on the top of the jar but realized it would just get wet after time and the ink would spread and cause a yucky mess. so i covered it with packing tape (or you can laminate them) and then tacked it down. added some lace on the top and some ribbon!

my photography class has ended. i learned SO much! especially about HOW the camera works. i developed such a love and a definite interest in shooting. especially pictures of people. i looove capturing feeling and emotion. a picture is worth much more than 1000 words.

my final was to create a set of 10 images that have some sort of reoccurring theme. i focused on 5 antiques & their modern equivalents. take a look! i'd LOVE to hear your comments!

one of my ALL-TIME FAVORITE cupcake is chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. i found Reese's peanut butter chips at a local grocery store and experimented putting them in the bottom of the cupcake. (look below)

then i put the cake batter on top.

PB Frosting

cream together the following ingredients:

2 sticks softened butter (cubed)

1 cup creamy peanut butter

2 TBS half & half

2 tsp vanilla extract

dash of salt

then carefully add 1 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar

this frosting is soooo yummy! it's not too sweet! doesn't give you

a tummy ache...it's just delicious.

Peanut Butter Frosting

2 sticks softened butter cut into cubes

1 cup creamy peanut butter

2 TBS half & half

2 tsp vanilla extract

dash of salt

1 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar

(the pb and half&half can be fat free and the recipe works just fine!)

i saw this on pinterest the other day and i didn't really believe it....

well i tried it today and it REALLY works!!! thank heavens because i HATE washing out my frosting bag...it gets real greasy.

step 1: plop your frosting on a piece of clear plastic wrap.

step 2: fold top and bottom in to the middle. (make sure it's overlapping so nothing leaks out)

step 3: firmly grasp either side and twist.

step 4: thread the end of the plastic through the tip and pull...then cut off the excess plastic.

oh my goodness! tonight i hung out with heather. we've known each other for so long and decided that tonight we'd catch up....and make COASTERS! this is one of the easiest DIY projects ever and the cheapest! (shhh! some of my friends are getting a set of these for Christmas!)

the tiles we found at Lowes for $.16 (can you believe that?!)

then we picked up some scrapbook paper at the local craft store.

(no, we aren't lucky enough to have a hobby lobby in st. george :/)

all you do is trace the square tile on the paper (back side/opposite side that you'd like to show) and then cut the squares out. using your finger or a brush coat the tile with mod podge (your choice: matte, glossy, etc.) lay the scrapbook paper on top and brush one more coat of mod podge on top. using your finger push out any air bubbles or wrinkles. THAT'S IT!

super easy and ADORABLE.

add a little felt on the bottom of the tile to make sure it doesn't rub against your coffee table.

this is definitely one of my favorites because my FAVORITE part about Thanksgiving isn't the food. i actually always feel kinda sick after i eat...but i LOVE spending time with my family in the kitchen. i love being in the kitchen with people i love, especially my family. since i could remember we always made our own speciality. dad made the turkey/ham, mom made the sweets, sister made the yam with WAAAY too many marshmallows (the more the merrier right?), brother rocked the stuffing, and i always whipped up the potatoes. it was SO much fun bumping into each other in the kitchen, sneaking marshmallows....OH the wonderful memories i have of spending all day together as a family on Thanksgiving. when i found this quote it all made sense. there's a reason that it takes all day to make dinner. to spend time together and create memories that will never fade. so, this thanksgiving, focus on the time we spend together, fortifying relationships with each other, not just how much whipped cream we can get on our pumpkin pie. <3

baking day with the girls

tuesdays and thursdays i don't have classes at the college so i usually end up crafting, baking, or cleaning. today i baked with 2 beautiful girls tennyson & marissa. tennyson is my vt companion that i met just this semester! we both have dreams of opening a bakery but right now she's a pre-med student and i'm studying graphic design! well, we both chose different recipes that we were wanting to try. i chose strawberry shortcake cakebites and tennyson made toffee squares from the wonderful pioneerwoman. it was SO much fun! here's some pictures!

i'm really impressed with our local smiths. these were the only frozen strawberries they had....classy right? they're h.a.n.d.p.i.c.k.e.d!

this frosting is soooo fluffy and yummy!!! make it by mixing:

1 stick of butter, (softened to room temperature)

3 3/4 c. powdered sugar

3-4 TBS milk

2 tsp vanilla extract

(easy right?!)

then add 3/4 c. of the frosting to 1/3 c. frozen strawberries (mashed) & mix it REAL good.

the recipe says to cut the cake after it's completely cooled....i don't really see the point in that...(look at next step)

using your fingers, crumble cake and mix with the strawberry/frosting mixture.

roll into balls. we did about a TBS of dough but you can make them a little smaller if you please. refrigerate for a good hour or so (make sure to cover it or else it will smell/taste like your freezer/fridge)

dip in white chocolate and sprinkle with cookie crumbs (we used nilla wafers because that's my favorite)

these are the delicious toffee squares that tennyson made.

strawberry shortcake cake bites

here's what you need:

1 box white cake mix

3 eggs

1 tsp kosher salt

3/4 cup half&half

mix together all 4 ingredients. batter will be thick. pour into a jelly roll sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 28-32 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched. remove from oven and cool completely. crumble cake into small pieces and mix with strawberry & frosting mixture.

1/3 cup frozen strawberries

3/4 cup vanilla buttercream frosting (recipe above)

with the back of a spoon, mix together cake crumbles (i used my hands) with strawberry mixture until a thick dough consistency forms. shape into evenly sized cake bites and cool 1-2 hours. dip in chocolate and sprinkle with cookie crumbs.

this is one of the hardest things we could learn. is how to make our troubles into our greatest blessings. i'm still working on this one!

today has been such a busy day! i woke up somewhat early and ran a bunch of errands. then i got a text from a friend. she needed help making polish cupcakes and OF COUSE i would LOVE to help her! so she came over and we made some yummy yummy polish cupcakes with much tlc from our little hearts. take a peek!

this is me and the GORGEOUS whitney. she served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Poland. how amazing is she?! she is definitely one of my good friends and a wonderful example to me in my everyday life. she is so cute and so full of positive energy. she is a WONDERFUL graphic designer and makes beautiful typography things. whitney! i will bake with you any day! te amo. jean doubre?

SUPER EASY! just boil red potatoes (WITH SKIN) mash them with milk, a little whipping cream, butter, fresh garlic, chopped scallions & some mozzarella. oh man! these potatoes are SOOOO divine and they whip up real quick! yummy! i can't wait till tomorrow. i'll be sure to take my camera along and take some pictures.

we often fail to thank those that did the initial ground work for the comforts of our everyday life. there are a lot of blessings in my everyday life that only exist because of what my dad or mom did years ago or other important people who are somewhat linked to me. i am so grateful for my dad for example for re-activing himself in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. because he went back to church he married my beautiful mother in the temple and we are sealed together as a family. meaning that our family relationship will exist beyond this life. i know that is true and i know that God loves us enough to let us stay with our families, those we love so dearly for all eternity. family is SO important to me! that is what i LOVE so much about the church. everything we teach, do, and value has to do with the family! for more information visit mormon.org.

for my 2d design class we had to draw 4 words out of a basket and then choose a 5th word and make a piece with the words. i drew the following:
apple.
cake.
missile.
pendulum.
and i choose the word:
typography.

this is what i came up with. a cake with missile candles. there are little apples on the bottom and a whisk as a pendulum. i used newspaper and typography-like scrapbook paper.

the pendulum was SUCH a battle. i didn't know what to use and I wanted something that I would be happy with and was creative. I came up with a mini whisk. fellow students in my class loved the idea.

the other day after zumba i stopped by the grocery store on the way home to pick up lots of healthy food. (that's usually what happens every time i go to zumba! i like, rededicate myself to eating healthier and being healthier.) so, i filled my basket with carrots, vegetables, special k cereal, etc. i was almost to the register and THIS caught my eye. well, at first skinny cow ice cream sandwiches did, which are really yummy too but i wanted something different. these delicious snickers bars are only 90 calories and they really hit the spot. i'm addicted. but they are so sweet i can only have 1 every couple days. if you have a sweet tooth like me but don't want all the calories, pick up a box of snickers mini ice cream bars!

i've always looked up to people that could be grateful for things repetitively. sometimes i bite my tongue because i feel like i already appreciated something before when in all reality, i should be grateful and voice it as often as possible. i'm spending the night with miss chelsea here in kanab. it's a tiny town that just got it's 2nd stop light. we got here around 8pm and we had dinner at a authentic little mexican restaurant called "escobars". it had some of the most delicious mexican food i've ever tasted and didn't have a hint of american! the little hispanic lady came and sat by me to take my order. i'm thankful for such small towns where everyone knows everyone and is friendly to all visitors.

after dinner we went to the movies and watched dolphin tale. two words: TEAR JERKER. oh my goodness! i saw the previews about a hundred times and never really thought i would end up LOVING the movie. SO cute and what a wonderful soundtrack. back it up a little bit, when we went to pay for our tickets i whipped out my handy debit card and to my absolute surprise they only took cash! it was such a fun night in kanab. i love this small little town. i feel like i've gone back a little in time. i love it.

of course with chelsea and i we are sure to find a scrapbook store...so we stopped by a darling little scrapbook shop in st. george...

while in las vegas today for a birthday party we stopped by Wynn for a bite to eat.

i was already soooo full from the yummy food, but the cupcakes tempted me, and i gave in!

i couldn't resist these darling little cupcakes. they weren't too excited about me taking pictures of the display so i grabbed 2 and took pictures of them on my plate. (with a little help from photoshop i made them look a little bit more like how they did in real life haha) the chocolate was just a basic chocolate with chocolate frosting and chocolate sprinkles. i call it chocolate on chocolate on chocolate or chocolate x3. the other was red velvet with a cream cheese frosting. dusted with glitter. (i hope you can kind of tell!) it was SO cute! i LOVE the thought of EATING glitter...sparkly is just so so cute! next time i'll have to try their basic vanilla with pink frosting! oooo i can't wait! *{]

i love this quote. probably because i have so many wonderful people to look up to in my life. first off, my parents. they have never given up on me and always believe in me to accomplish no matter what crazy idea i have. i love them with all that i am. another very special person in my life is koni hunter. she was my 6th grade school teacher and a very special friend. i remember going to her little boy mason's sealing in the st. george temple. the words of counsel she's given me have been so helpful and life changing. another influential woman in my life is my good friend tami teriipaia. she is such a hard worker and i feel so blessed to be her friend. her insights on life, love, and how to treat people has really opened my eyes to a whole new world of loving people and never judging. my nana is also amazing. i honestly hope to become half the woman she is today. she's always thinking of others and what she can do to better improve their lives and their situations. she always puts herself last, selflessly caring of others. i have countless people that i could name on this post saying my 'thank yous' or my 'i love yous' but those are just a few examples. i deeply appreciate all those in my life that have made me who i am today! <3

ok, so i set a goal a few days ago that i'm going to post a quote and something i'm grateful for each day of november. i love focusing on gratitude and how incredibly blessed we are. usually everyday, but this month in general. so for the first one:

the power of prayer is so real. i've learned a lot in the last few years that our God is so concerned with us and wants to be involved in all that we do. we must go to Him for everything and rely on Him and His love completely. i am so grateful for the knowledge and faith that i have of the power of prayer. i know without a doubt, each time i fall on my knees, He is there listening. He loves each one of us and listens to every prayer and plea. it's hard for humans to comprehend how He can hear each one of us when there are what? nearly 7 billion people on earth? but it's because He is God. as promised, i made you a little something spooky for halloween. i mod podged it on a plaque of wood. it's super cute with a purple, black, green, or orange background! have fun & have a great halloween.

we also had a fun halloween cupcake party last night. we had about 30 people over and way too many cupcakes to count. we used cute orange sprinkles, mini sugar bones, plastic skulls, food dye (made orange & black frosting), oh goodness! the cupcakes turned out absolutely darling! take a peek! (the pictures aren't the best because i only had my phone at the time!)

the hit frosting was my cream cheese frosting. here's the recipe:

Creamy Cream Cheese Frosting

ingredients:

1 8-ounce package cream cheese

1/2 cup butter, softened

2 1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla

well, this morning started at 2am when i crashed at my friend's apartment. the suu howl was last night and well, my apartment complex was nothing short of complete chaos. i realized if i wanted any sleep it wouldn't be at my complex. so i crashed on my friend's floor. my alarm clock went off at 7am (ouch!) and i drove back to my apartment and got ready for a photoshoot/photography assignment that i was doing with a fellow student. don't get me wrong, i don't claim to be a model by ANY means, i won't open up a lookbook, or post a million photos on facebook, but the pictures turned out pretty good and well, after all it WAS the assignment. afterwards i cleaned up around the apartment and then went to the suu football game. the last home game of the season :( BOO!!! i rocked some black leggings and a preppy little red argyle cardigan with boots! we ROASTED UCD with a blazing 34:3. wasn't even a challenge. however, my car ended up having to be towed because it was making a "grindy" sound which is the best possible way i thought i could describe it to my dad. so, i'm stuck on my own 2 feet for a few days. which is great! maybe i'll burn a few lbs! haha but i did have to miss my appointment to make brasilian food with a new friend carrie. (i PROMISE i'm not just ditching out!) one of my besties, marissa saved the day with her aaa card and free rides all over town. (thank you again doll!) but i was in such a good mood i decided to post this little lovin a little early. (you're welcome) i got the idea from a recent pin. i switched some of the fonts and made it a printable. she painted it i believe, but i think it'd be really fun mod podged, framed. painted, or even on a canvas. use your imagination! enjoy! and yes, it's a little bit spring themed but it's already snowing in c*city and i miss the spring. :)

YAY! I remembered that it's FRIDAY!!!! So, here are your fonts for the weekend! Most of these are free so make sure to follow the links and download them for yourself! I am SUCH a font freak!!! Soon after I got my mac it started lagging. I was shocked because all the talk about how macs are sooo wonderful and never have problems. So, I called up apple help and I told them my problem. They signed into my computer and started looking around. The 'genius' quickly saw that i had like 3000 fonts total and he asked me if that was really necessary. I replied with a quick, "YES!" He chuckled softly and said; "ma'am, do you really use 3000 fonts a day?" I debated; "I don't USE all 3000 but I need lots of options. I'm not deleting my fonts." He explained to me how to lock and store fonts and then unlock them when I need them. It really helps my programs load faster. (fontbook is such a great font manager!) anyway, I hope you love these fonts! have a FABULOUS weekend!

it's all around us. calamity and distress. the worst is when people say, "your generation is lost. there's no more hope for you all." our generation isn't forced to sit back and reap the affects of the previous generations or even continue with a negative attitude because of what has happened. we must better ourselves and contribute to our surrounds to better each other and improve as a whole.

we see this everywhere we look. keeping up with the kardashians, the real housewives of orange county, my super sweet sixteen, and many more tv shows, movies, music artists, politicians, actors, and maybe sometimes us. we don't want a limit, we don't wan to admit enough is enough. we must. we must realize that material wealth/gain is of no importance. God doesn't look at what we have and judges us. He looks at what we've done. who we've helped and served. that is what is truly important. we should learn from the ancient egyptians who buried many gold and riches for the deceased so that they might be comfortable in heaven. yet, those material things stayed in the pyramids, never once did the deceased use or even see those things. let's try and not get carried away with being surrounded by "stuff" or having the attitude of wanting more and more.

as a few of you know i recently got home from serving a lds mission in brasil. i have been home about 6 months and i still miss it more and more each day. when i first saw this video i thought of how most people in brasil have next to nothing. brasilians are such sweet and humble people. they are so loving and have such a desire in them to better the world around them and to show love constantly. i remember so many time where the brasilians took care of me or offered help to me. one time i got really sick on my mission, i'm pretty sure it was food poisoning, and a member stopped by my house in the wee hours of the morning to drop off medicine and some food for the day. this is what being Christlike means. it means going out of your way to ease the burdens of someone else. i will always have a special place in my heart for that lady and the love she showed to me, that changed my life.

i am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. i love my Savior. one thing i love about the church is that we are so focused on families. we know that there are certain relationships we may bind here on earth that will extend to the eternities. i believe that. i believe that i will be with my family for all of eternity. not just here for this lifespan on earth. i believe that when i marry my husband that we may be together for eternity as well. death does not do us part. what comfort that brings to me! how joyous will the eternities be! i feel so blessed to be apart of this church and the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

as most of you know, i recently returned home from serving a full-time lds mission in brasil. i got home late october, and seriously, i miss it more and more everyday. i love the brasilian people so much and i miss being a servant of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. i have such a strong testimony that families are forever. i know that God knows and loves each and everyone of us. i feel so blessed that i love creating. sewing, scrapbooking and all my other outlets of creativity all come from God. He has blessed me with the talent of creativity so that i may bless the lives of others. without Him, i am nothing. i feel inclined tonight to write a quick 'thank you' to the many people who helped me arrive at where i am today.

1. my amazing parents. they are my 2 best friends. from such a young age they supported me with all my art projects, my disney stamps, and my weird obsession with binders and paper. THANK YOU mom for not throwing them out, and THANK YOU dad for never getting mad at empty reams of paper and toner cartridges.

2. my sister. she is my best girlfriend and i love her dearly. here's to late night scrapbooking till 4am and too many jewels for our own good! she has such a indie style and a creative eye for everything anthro. thank you.

it's amazing how family plays such a huge role in our lives. i am so grateful for an amazing family. i love each and every one of you so much, i could never express my gratitude sufficiently. seriously, i am SO blessed!

i received a letter in the mail today from a member in my last area on the mission. as i read her letter i was brought to tears. pure joy is feeling the love of God. i love this member so much. may she always have a special place in my heart and may our friendship be eternal.

this letter even included a recipe for brasilian pudim and a VERY detailed diagram! thanks paula! i love you!

simple car trash bag - mini tutorial no.1

here's a mini tutorial for a REALLY simple trash bag to use in your car!

step one: cut fabric according to how big or small you want your bag.

step two: pin ribbon about 1 inch down from the top edge.

step three: fold edge, and stitch across the entire length. (be sure to hid the ribbon stitching!)

go ahead! steal it! :) or make your own. here's how:

1/ in photoshop draw your swoopy lines however you want them.

2/ draw a triangle/heart/circle and make sure the inside is transparent.

3/ place your favorite digi-paper behind and clean up the edges.

4/ OR you can copy and paste mine, drag it into photoshop, make the inside transparent, then place your digi-paper behind the triangles. (make sure to click on it first so it gets bigger- you then can save it in a better resolution!)

i always wanted a simple, organized and cute way to store all my recipes digitally. i designed a few simple programs, even messed around with dad's old program client check, but i never got it EXACTLY how i wanted. well, just a few weeks ago i found such an awesome program called,

post a picture for each recipe (whether it's a picture of your own or one from the internet- just drag and drop!)
